Yes, the Michelin XPS RIBS are really THAT good...as also earlier stated by "me again" in his post the Bridgestone Duravis R250 cost less and is "just as good as" the Michelins...might want to check out the pricing on the R250's...again, you won't go wrong with either.... - carpetguy2ExplorerDid alot of checking on the michelin xps and seems to only have 235 85 16 .I have 235 80 16.Between the two sizes assuming the 85 are taller.Any one had a issue with that .

thanks - MrVanExplorerTry Costco for Bridgestone R250's. $70 off for 4 right now. They will mount on your rims but they have no place for the 5th wheel to mount them on the 5th wheel so you will need to do that for yourself. Discount Tire won't mount LT ties on a 5th wheel with less rating than the ST tires already installed from the factory. Our ST tires were rated at 3500lb and many LT tires are rated at 3,000 lbs. We put the 3,000 lb LT Bridgestone R250 Duravais rated tires on 6,000 lb axle so no harm, no foul. I think Discount Tires policy is myopic in an attempt to sell Carlisle tires. I will never have ST tires on our 5th wheel again.

if you want to purchase tires that are warrantied to where if they fail within the first 4 years of service, they will pay for the damage and replace the tire, Goodyear G614's are your only option

And that's the truth.

Tires i got quoted on by local big dealers
Commodore str 99.00 each
GY Marathon 196.00 each
Carlisle radial 153.00
Maxis 128.00 each
No one recommend michelin not sure why.
What's the price on those
Thanks again
Sorry for another bs tire tread
Scary....The Maxxis I'd possibly think about BUT, in this group, you're getting what you pay for....not much....Most of the above, if not all, I wouldn't consider...try to find another "local big dealer"...don't sound like they are very "tire savy"....
Michelin RIBS aren't cheap,haven't priced them in a while....Bridgestone R250's cost less.
Gettting away from the retail box store tire places and finding a good commercial tire shop will help in getting high quality tires installed.

Agree with you on this Chris. - Me_AgainExplorer III

Chris - LantleyNomadIn short get the best tire available. This is not a time to take the savings. Michelin XPS Ribs or Duravis R250 they are both an full steel encased tire.
You can find lots of less expensive tires but the quality will not be there.
Blow out damage is costly why take the risk to save a few pennies.
No tire is 100% failure proof however if I'm going to have a blow out I hope that it is from some sort of road hazard vs. a tire that self destructed
