Happijac beds

Beds would go up, but not down. Called Marv at Happijac several times. Learned there is a 'brake' on the 12-volt motor that will allow them to come down in order to work on the upper limit switch. His terminology confused me at first, but found the problem. Heartland failed to leave any slack in the two-wire redhead connector and it had simply "vibrated" off the control board box. I replaced it, furnace-taped both redheads and I am "good to go". Easy fix, learned a lot and Marv was very patient with me. THX, Happijac. Good JOB.

They are inside the vertical channels the bed goes up and down in/on. One at the top, one at the bottom. Follow the small white wires, mine are in wiremold at the rear of the verticals. if you have an ohm meter you can check for continuity at the control board too, the troubleshooting guide on their website is very good if you know how to read a wiring diagram.
Another dumb question. . . . . where is the control board?

    x2 Limit switch

mine were both smashed pretty good, why does that happen? Fortunately they're regular reed switches available at any good electronics store so I bought an extra for a spare, only a couple bucks each.
  • They have wiring diagrams available on their website, I printed them out and carry them in the hauler. My issue was broken limit switches, there are two reed switches, one at the top, one at the bottom that open when the bed reaches its limits if they are open the bed won't move.
  • wow good to know. first time owner of happijack bed here so that is good info for me if needed. thanks
  • Have a picture of what you did? Im have a similar issue but my beds will go down and not up.
