I have camped off and on all my life. As a kid, we had a pop-up, a converted step van and a pickup camper. As an adult, we had tents and a pop-up when the kids were small. A year and a half ago we decided to get back into camping, getting close to retirement, and we went to our dealer to look at a travel trailer. We were talking to the salesman and I told him I know what a 5th wheel trailer is, but what are they like on the inside? Well, I was blown away. I thought the front overhang would be like a pickup camper, a bed you would crawl into. I had no idea you could actually stand up in the overhang. I looked at the inside and looked at the outside and looked at the inside again. How did they do that? I was amazed. Of course, we ended up getting a fifth wheel.
