Healthiest 5th Wheel?

Whether or not you have the sticker you will be buying a "certified green" camper. Good for you being progressive!

I tend to be chemically sensitive so buying a used unit that was just like new worked for us. It had been used only a handful of times, was half the new purchase price, and had off-gassed during the few years it sat around.

We went to look at 5th Wheels today. After complaining about my girl friend, I had more trouble than she did. We definitely will go green. We did notice that new ones were worse. I think this is a little like peanuts, fine for some, terrible for others. Obviously, we don't want to spend $50,000+ on something that makes us sick.

Well I cannot agree with your reasoning since I think there are never to many, nor am I to old (65) but to each his own poison. Make sure the title is in your name, :D

BTW: one of my old hunting grounds was Fort Meade (85-89) and surrounding area. Great place for finding new girlfriends.

I've been in some of the so called green trailers at the RV show and they still had that new car smell. I suppose it depends what she is sensitive to.

The particle board is replaced by plywood, shich is also glued. Engineered flooring and trusses are also contributors. Insulation WAS a major contributor, but that was rectified early on.

There are no emissions on a 5th wheel, unless you are talking about the material they are made of, then you wont find an emission free unit!

Any new 5th will out gas and that used to be formaldahyde used in the glues and carpet. It could poison the occupants if in it when closed up. It's no joke and it is why they changed materials and went to a certification. The op is wise to look into this. Toxin in building materials is very real but thankfully it is getting better.
