It was the Oakmont series that was replaced with the Bighorn Traveler. The Elkridge series remains.

And yes many Bighorn owners on the Heartland forum were not happy with the Traveler degrading the Bighorn name.

The Bighorn floor plans do not map directly to the Bighorn Traveler.

Some folks have had both good and bad luck with the Heartland products, with you now in a Royals International going to a Heartland some will say you are stepping down but in my opinion is if you do a good PDI and catch any issues to be taken care of and maintain upkeep on your unit almost all brands can be good. Good luck on your choice and maybe widen your search to others that are in the same range of quality of the Big Horns to see other choices.

With the theory that all makes have their good ones and bad ones, it baffles me how there is such a disparity.

2014 Landmark. Any problems I have had, Heartland covered. Very good customer support.

We purchased our Bighorn new in 2010 and have had it since. We had a few cosmetic issues in the beginning, but nothing major. Definitely a high quality unit and one we are very happy with.

We've owned three Heartland products and have had nothing major with them. We've had a Northtrail, Big Country and now a BigHorn 3160EL. So farHeartland has had great Customer Service. I've had a few problems after warranty, and they have always been more than helpful.
