I contacted the contractor that built the barn about ten years ago. They came out to measure and are putting together an estimate to raise the opening of the door. The contractor said they could raise the opening 11 inches without issue. Clearly I will need at least 8 of the those 11 inches to clear the AC unit. From my research, I can not find a low profile AC unit that is 4 inches or less. Looks like expanding the door height is the only option......
