Well.. any concerns are now our problem. We are the owners of a 2006 F350 Dually! THANK YOU to everyone for helping.
Congrats!!!! I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you. But with that many miles I am sure any problems would have surfaced by now.
Thanks! That is our hope. Everything appears to be stock. Whether or not it's been replaced, we're not sure. The plan that the wife and I have is to do the bullet proof mods as funds allow.

Congrats, that is a good point that at that many miles if something was going to go wrong it would of by now,but as a former hard core Ford guy that 6.0 scared the heck out of me enough to turn trader and go Duramax/Allison and that is a shame because they are a good motor if they have been Bulletproofed or I hope in your case you just got a good one and some people did and love them:)
Thanks! So far, since Sat evening, we've put on roughly 150 miles with at least 100 of that being highway 55mph or more. I figured, get used to the beast now and hopefully find any issues before we get away from home. I know a load in the rear is preferred but I've been trying to run it a little hard with putting pedal about 50-75% to the floor to hopefully clean out anything in the system that we can. On the way home from the dealer (~2hrs away), it was cruising at 70-75mph (~2500RPM) most of the time. Hopefully that helps. Ear comfort level preferred <70mph though. I don't have any expectation to be doing that speed with any trailer, let alone a 12k one.

Congrats, surprised you didn't go south to find a rust free unit. Hope that 6.0 serves you well and is trouble free.
Thanks! We didn't look far enough south. A we didn't have the time (not a great excuse) and this one is surprisingly clean for a northern truck. Yes there is some rust on the inside doors and frame as to be expected but nothing like a lot of the cancerous trucks we've seen.

Congratulations, man. I'm certain you'll love this PSD. I've got the same truck in the King Ranch trim.
First thing you'll NEED to do is the EGR/cooler bypass. The EGR system or cooler is the leading cause of almost every other under hood concern that may develop.
There are other concerns but may be updated already.
Despite any negative comments about the 6.0, it has a stronger bottom end than all it's competition. Thus, once all the little annoyances are dealt with it can be programmed for some awesome horsepower and torque.
If you are indeed the DIY sort, you'll definitely want to sign up here: http://www.powerstroke.org Introduce yourself and read, read, read.
It's not a difficult engine to work on. I carry enough tools in a medium size tool pouch to do anything to top end of engine. Even head gaskets.
Contact me if you need any technical advice. I'm too far away to help you turn wrenches.:)

Thanks! I hope so. Still a little skeptical at this point. From what I've been reading, the oil cooler and egr have the same design and will cause issues. I THINK we may be starting one of those in here. Might need a pm for this as it's off topic. When I was doing 70ish, and accelerated up a hill. I could feel "micro" hesitations. Nothing like a power loss or full misfire. Just felt like it was having issues. Also, could partly be in my head lol. I have had some buyers remorse (normal for me with large purchases). I would love to do the bulletproof egr with the tubes instead of cooling fins and external oil cooler. Just need a couple grand lol.
Speaking of tools. I'd like to get a headache bar for some lights when backing up/putting trailer on along with a low profile toolbox that has the aux fuel tank under it. All signed up at powerstroke. I had been lurking there a bit with the possible sale. Not to get my woes consoled lol.
Thanks again everyone!
