Help needed for Snowbirding to Phoenix

Due to circumstances, my DW and I couldn't make preparation/reservations. Now we are planning to go, but of course "No Vacancy."
What we are doing:
We have 14 day resv. at Lost Dutchman S.P. in a non-elect.site. I check hourly for any cancellation so we can upgrade to elect., and I call Az. S.P. resv. #to check with their office twice a day.
I have requests at two commercial RV parks to be called if they any cancellations. Our dates are any time from mid-Jan. to mid-Feb.
Any info.,advice, contacts, etc. are appreciated.
  • I stayed here one summer in 2008.

They do not have a pool, or much else, so the rent is pretty cheap. Only a few dozen sites, so you get to know the owner too! Really friendly too.

  • A big THANK YOU to all (except the couple in Rockport, Tx. We were in Rockport two years age, loved it and would rather have gone there, but couldn't).With all these responses I am confident we will find what we need.
  • There are a lot of other choices in that area and as we found out two years ago only the "most popular" are full. What I mean is the ones that everyone know about not necessarily the nicest or best situated. Check out this Resource
  • Dave...

C-loop at Picacho Peak seems to have openings. Not exactly Phoenix,
but only a 1 hour commute. Good luck.

  • IN Casa Grande try Fiesta Grande RV resort or Palm Creek.
Fiesta Grande phone is (520) 426-7000
  • There are lots and lots of commercial RV parks in Apache Junction and Mesa...some big and some smaller...even a KOA. Have you checked many of them? Have you checked with Maricopa County Parks?
  • We are on the south-TX coast (Rockport) and it is sunny and 62 today and will be in the upper 60's and sunny this weekend! There are a few rainy/cloudy days here, but it is winter! No problem wearing a sweat shirt or light jacket. It beats what they have up North, come on down and we will keep the beach light on for y'all!
