Worked as a building service engineer for several years. A few weekend workers had the habit of messing with the controls for the HVAC system. I solved that problem by mixing Malicite Green with Vaseline and when I had everything balanced I'd apply a liberal amount of that mixture to the control knobs. The guys that messed with those controls would have green fingers for several weeks.
