Well there you have it - you can get "information" from a retired SOE with a pretty face that somehow equates operating industrial boilers to an authority on propane and camper safety, or you can just get information direct from the actual experts on the committee itself:
NFPA 1192: Standard on Recreational Vehicles, 2015 Edition Chapter 5 Fuel Systems and Equipment -
5.2 Propane Systems.
5.2.6.6 Doors or panels providing access to valves shall not be equipped with locks or require special tools to open.
Everyone has choices.
