Hitch clunking
My hitch has developed some play at the point where it is pinned to the bed rails. It clunks when you stop and clunks when accelerating. Not bad, but enough to bother someone as anal as me. It seem...

This morning I made some shims out of tin shingles. I made them 3 inches long and 1.5 inches wide. I cut the hole in the middle out with a coal chisel . Took about an hour to make eight of them. Putting two on each leg took out all of the slack.Can't wait to hook up the rig.
I have a Curt Q5 (20K) and I have heard the dampers that Curt sells only last a short time before they are worn out.
I will see how long the tin shims last. I expect that the tin will be damaged over time.
If they work I will look for a harder material that I can cut and shape.
