The manual (PullRite Superglide) for mine lays it out.
*Back the trailer and block the wheels (this relieves the tension on the king-pin)
*Release hitch from the king-pin
*Lower landing legs until the king pin just clears the hitch plate
*Pull away
I have run into situations where I can't get the tension between the king-pin and hitch relieved, in that (I think) the truck always moves -just- enough to "bind" the king-pin back into the tow position.
When this happens I release the two pins that connect the head of the hitch to the body, lower the landing gear and then raise the trailer until the head moves out of the body, thus relieving the tension. Then I release the king-pin and lower the trailer back down and re-pin the head to the hitch.
Then I can proceed as above
