I ran a 20amp out to mine, standard plug will run lights but not any of the AC.

If you just want to have lights and keep the battery charged while storing then using adapters to get the 50 amp plug down to a 20 amp plug to connect to a standard house outlet is all you need. You can even run one A/C from a 20 amp outlet if you do not run much else. If you want to be able to use A/C and other appliances, maybe for use as a guest house for visitors, then you could get by with a 30 amp outlet and a 50 to 30 adapter. If you want full use of everything, then you should have a 50 amp outlet. The links above by 2oldman provide all the info needed for wiring one.

Oh my.... If you are wanting to use your camper at home and have full electric service for it, then DO make an investment and have a 50 amp service put in. I installed a 30 amp plug for my camper out of my garage (separate from the house). It was the BEST RV modification I ever made. We use the camper all the time at home since. And no fear of blowing any breakers running the air conditioner.The only down side is, if I ever change campers and end up with a 50 amp RV, I'm toast! But, hooking up a 50 amp outlet would be very easy with out any serious alterations in the garage. After having 100% availability of the camper now, if switching to a 50 amp camper, I'd switch over in a heartbeat!As stated above, you can run minimally from your standard house hold plug. Jet get the step up-downs from 50, to 30, to 20 amp adapters and hook up all up together (but do consider the 50 amp hook-up... you'll be glad you did!)

If you decide on either a 30 or 50 amp, I strongly suggest to hire an electrician to do it properly and to code.One mistake can cause a lot of damage.

Just completed this task on weekend. Brother and late dad electricians so I always have an ear for my questions.
Used 10-2 armoured cable out to my attached garage so it was protected and stapled on studs. Bought a 120 volt 30 Amp RV receptacle and single pole 30 Amp breaker that matches name on my main service panel. Enclosed end with 4 by 4 box and appropriate cover. Tested today.

Don't do it if least bit unsure. PM if necessary.
Agree that some electricians would wire the 240 thinking garage, welder, table saw etc.
My rig is 50 amp but 30 is fine for the 24 hours it is parked in front of my house and why I chose that route. 100 bucks total...........Canadian eh!!!!!!!!

The easiest way to do it (assuming you don't need full 50A) is to get a 50A to 30A dogbone like THIS.

If you want the full 50A, it's probably a new install: breaker, cable and receptacle.

Changing the plug would be easy. But you'd have to change the line feeding it as well.

Since you have a 50 amp RV have a NEMA 14-50 outlet installed.
Very common, same as a double oven.
