We have a walk thru bath and that is our preference. It makes the bedroom feel much more spacious. We eliminated the folding door between the bed and the bath area. There are only the two of us and we respect each other's privacy so the bathroom setup is not an issue. We were told by our manufacturer that 8 out of 10 people want an enclosed bath though.
That is weird!! Then why is it that 8 out of 10 5'ers have open baths?? - rhagfoExplorer IIIWe had a separate pass through in our 1st 5er, door to both living and bedroom. We liked that and looked for a separate bathroom when we started.
The more we looked the more the Master suite appealed to us, makes the bedroom much larger, the toilet closet can be a bit snug, but I like the room to dry and dress when I get out of the shower! - ddschumanExplorerAlthough I have never owned a camper with the open concept, I don't believe I would like it and stayed clear of the floor plans with it when looking for a new FW. My thoughts when looking were: 1) even with the fan going, the bathroom still gets a little humid when taking a shower. Would that humidity escape to the bedroom? 2) if company goes with you camping, do you want them showering and washing their hands in your bedroom? 3) I prefer doors or pocket doors as opposed to folding curtains.
Again, I haven't had the open concept and it seems others who do don't find any of my concerns an issue so I may have over thought it when looking but I still believe I would like my bedroom and bath to be complete separate areas vs combined. - FlatBrokeExplorer IIOur current and last fifth wheel have/had enclosed bath rooms. The one prior to these had the shower and sink in the bed room. I miss that setup. The bed room was so much roomier.
- 2112Explorer IIThis created a divided house for us. We walked through several FW and A's with this arrangement and I liked them. The bedroom seems more spacious and functional. It just had a nice, open feel to it.
DW, on the other hand, said No Way Jose. The shower and sink does not belong in the bedroom, period.
We kept looking at them but they always got a thumbs down from DW. - jnharleyExplorerWe have a walk thru bath and that is our preference. It makes the bedroom feel much more spacious. Our first FW had the open bath and when we were looking for a new FW, if it didn't have the side aisle enclosed bath, I didn't look at it. Didn't like the light coming in, my hubby showers at 6 am, (in the bedroom? no thanks) guests were confused/embarrased about coming into our bedroom to wash their hands after using the bathroom, when guests spent the night it REALLY didn't work well. I also didn't like towels hanging up in my bedroom all the time, but thats just me.
That was our situation. Others may be different.
These are things that we had thought of. I don't know how much company we would have, but I suppose that it could feel awkward to some.
I can't think of a 5th wheel that has the bed/bath combo that wouldn't have a sliding curtain/door to separate the two areas. You need to really look at more units. So many questions that only you can answer. - MookieKatExplorer
