- soosExplorer IIOur first FW had the open bath and when we were looking for a new FW, if it didn't have the side aisle enclosed bath, I didn't look at it. Didn't like the light coming in, my hubby showers at 6 am, (in the bedroom? no thanks) guests were confused/embarrased about coming into our bedroom to wash their hands after using the bathroom, when guests spent the night it REALLY didn't work well. I also didn't like towels hanging up in my bedroom all the time, but thats just me.
That was our situation. Others may be different. - seleExplorerours has the separate room for shower and toilet sink is in the bedroom no odor that we have noticed like everybody saws you smell anything something isn't working correctly.

. Sounds like our Big Horn. We prefer this floor plan and is partly why we ordered this unit. I've read a number of similar threads and there are many who don't like it. For us, it's the most logical floor plan to utilize the space most efficiently. An enclosed bath hogs the sink, shower, and toilet
Ours has the open bedroom bath combo. That's the main reason we bought it. In smaller 5'ers room is a premium. In front of the shower there's an area of linoleum. Shower door doesn't leak water and when you open it, it doesn't drip either. By a 5er with quality materials and you will have less issues. We put a bath mat in front of the shower so if anything does drip it won't get on the floor. Sorta like you do at home.
As far as the stink goes, trust me on this one it won't matter what bed/bath combo you have if the toilet or black tank aren't in good working order then the whole trailer will stink.
We have two sliding curtains that block the bed from the bath area and another that blocks the whole upstairs area from the lower living/kitchen area.
We weren't sold on the bed/bath combo idea completely but after having it now for 5 mths and 40 or so nights out. We really like it. It allows 2 people to use the bathroom as opposed to one.
When you start putting it all in one room in smaller 5ers then the bedroom and the bathroom get smaller.
When you can only use one at a time. - goducks10ExplorerOurs has the open bedroom bath combo. That's the main reason we bought it. In smaller 5'ers room is a premium. This way they have a bath to use without invading our privacy.
- wfreethExplorerWe have the open bathroom layout, and no water from the shower gets sprayed onto the bedroom area carpet. My wife made a cover the Velcros under the shower skylight to keep the light out in the mornings (she's not a morning person).

Any water problems spraying out from the shower?
How do you cope with the light coming in through the skylight? Are there any light blocking covers for them?
Yes, there are skylight covers that are useful for insulating/reflecting heat coming through a skylight when it's hot. However, don't think you'd want to cover the shower skylight since there's a fan in them and that helps with moisture removal when showering. The light was never a bother in our fifth wheel and isn't in our TT. - Old-BiscuitExplorer III

If you can smell any odors from any of the waste tanks then there is something WRONG......bad seals, bad air admittance valves, bad vents....bad, bad something period!
As to the shower/sink in the bedroom......NO thanks.
Bedrooms typically have carpet......showers drip water from door when opening, spray from shower head gets out of shower etc. Wet carpet...no thanks.
We picked a floorplan with a full bathroom for that reason.
Trailers are just shoe-boxes on wheels. Just so many ways you can turn them/partition them.
So pick the floor plan that works for you and your needs.
I am asking because my friend has a TT and she talks about the odor. Then, we looked at a used unit yesterday that had an odor coming from the toilet area.
So, you smell nothing?
Nope...no smells and it isn't because our poop don't stink :B
It's because our seals/traps work. They provide mechanical and water barriers to odors.
Don't even smell anything when dumping because my hoses/fittings have seals and they work.
Don't use any chemicals either.........just water.
If I (actually GF...she has a sensitive nose) smell any odors then I find and fix the problem.
Now an occasional whiff will occur when flushing toilet and bathroom vent is open or if one of the fantastic fans is on but that's normal.
NO lingering odors.
Do you smell odors in your house......RV's are no different. - kakampersExplorerWe've had both types...lived in a fiver with an open/split bath with the Shower and sink in the bedroom...really makes the bedroom feel larger.
However, we now have an enclosed side bath. The unit we choose has a rather large bedroom so it doesn't feel tight...now that we have the two separate rooms we find we prefer it!!
As for smells in the bathroom...as others said, you should not smell anything, if you do you probably have a seal of venting issue. - MookieKatExplorerAny water problems spraying out from the shower?
