I think a perfect solution for my Dad would be to full time in a fifth wheel. He will be moving about every two years. He does not want to purchase a big truck and he also does not want to pull a fifth wheel. Is it easy to find someone to transport a fifth wheel to another location? Are there other folks that have fifth wheels but rely on someone else to haul it?
My suggestion would be to put the FW on jack stands, remove the wheels and store them in as cool, dry place as possible. If not, park on boards and completely cover them. Have the bearings re-packed before each move and brakes checked. 'Bout all you can do short of putting it on a low-boy. Any number of haulers out there; just be sure they have current insurance and lots of recommendations.
