Not sure how some can state that the truck is ok for what he is looking at.
How many think this tag is accurate??? His max payload of 2571 may be more or less. But the truck needs to be weighed to truely know what pin weight he should be looking at...It all depends on people and cargo and fuel.
Im an axle weight guy. IMO as I said earlier is he loads the truck with fuel and cargo/passengers..then,
Take said truck to cat scale.
Get separate axle weights
Take the trucks axle weights on the door tag and subtract from the #'s you got from the scales.
Thats 6830lb-RAWR - ????
Do same for front
That will tell you payload/pin period.... Cost is around $10 for the scale.. That would be the best $10 you ever spent..
Then when looking for a 5th wheel, most dealers can tell the exact pin weight.IF your 235/80's are fairly new, I'd put them on the trailer and get rid of even new ST tires
They are the trailer tires I believe.. The OP did not post the truck tire size....
.
Really?? This coming from a guy that tows a 30 ft TT with an S-10?? I sure know who I would rather follow down the highway :E
