the center of gravity is 64" back from the front of the box, so measure that and as long as your rear axel is behind that you'll be good to go. one thing you might also have to do is raise up the camper with a frame of some sort (I use a 2X6 frame double hight) to make sure the cab over clears the roof of the truck and the sides clear the box rails.

To the OP, it will 100% NOT be a problem hauling an 8-6 long camper on a short bed 1 ton. Not even close to being an issue for weight or CoG.
Now, making sure the cab over clears the truck cab…well yup one should do that.

It could cause problems with the center of gravity in your truck.
Is there any way to check it out before purchasing the topper?
