Jayco Seismic Wave or Keystone Fusion Chrome?

Looking at TH's and really interested in the Jayco Seismic Wave (3912) and the Keystone Fuzion Chrome 401 model....both 2015 models....Before any bickering or bartering, Camping World in Hendersonville NC is asking 78,995 for the Jayco SW 3912 and Camping World in Knoxville TN is asking 78,995 for the Fuzion Chrome 401.....MSRP (yeah...no I don't go that route), but sticker on Jayco is $118,000 and for the Keystone Fusion is 110,500...


I've owned a lot of 5th wheels, but never a TH...I'm looking for one closest to "4 seasons", though this will be for my wife and my retirement "home".....Winter months would be spent in warmer weather, but March through November, on our lot we purchased in WVa....


anything anybody could tell me about both?....I know Jayco has a very good reputation, but don't know that much about Keystone.

    We have a 2014 401 chrome with the black and white exterior. Two trips in it so far and I'm still learning about it. Takes awhile for the two a/c's to cool things down but so far we love it

    Jayco has a 2 year warranty while Keystone is a 1 year warranty. If you're going to live in it full time pay attention to the warranty, many companies will void the warranty if you are full timers. I don't know Jayco's stance but in the past Keystone considered the Raptor a recreational vehicle for part time (weekend) use. Another popular units that is more friendly to full timers is the Grand Design line which they boast about on their site.

    Thanks for the heads up, good information....I'll check out Grand Design.

    Grand Design is definitely #1 on my list.

    On the Jayco front, I borrowed a buddy's 2013 Jayco TT. I'll be honest, I was not impressed with the attention to detail. The nail hole puddy on trim was sloppy, on the finished seams, the head board for example, they sealed up the inside corner seams using color caulking in one spot, but in the same inside corner on the opposite side, left a big gap. Sure these are things my friend, who wouldn't, should have brought up during a PDI, but just saying, the finishing touches were mediocre at best.

    Never been in a Jayco TT, but have been in their higher end 5ers and was impressed with their quality...Grand Design looks good also. Thanks for info.

    I've owned a modest Jayco Kiwi Hybrid and two Keystone products; Outback and Raptor. I can't complain about either of them. But I've purchased 3 of my 5 RVs from the same dealership and I've always had good local customer service. The two year warranty is nothing to sneeze and I think it puts Jayco up a notch if everything else was equal.

    Agree; an extra year of warranty tells me they feel better about their quality possibly more than the "other guys'.

    I've owned Keystone, Jayco, and Grand Design. All had good points, and some other areas I wished were different. That being said, I will shop Toyhaulers in the offseason this year. Jayco currently has the floorplan I like, along with KZ. If Grand Design builds it ( I am told they might) I'm buying it. Grand Design is top shelf, they are doing things right in my opinion.

    Y-Guy hit the nail on the head. Check the warranty details before buying if you plan to full-time. I had another brand a couple years ago and it had the same disclaimer. Unfortunately, even the factory reps here and on their own website would try to sway people wanting to go full-time into buying their product. Low.

    I also love the fact that both Jayco and KZ offer two year warranties. I've always liked the Raptors and Fuzions. But if it came down to a toss-up for you, I'd get the Jayco.

    I like the floor plan of the Jayco better, and 2 year warranty....I didn't like the tires on the 5er..I would can them and go with another brand name, but other than that....was ok...had three A/C's also..

    I can drive about 70 miles in two different directions and see some Grand Designs..so will probably do that also....
