Jayco Seismic Wave

My family are ready to upgrade and get a new toy hauler. We looked at a Voltage, Cyclone, Attitude, and the Jayco Seismic Wave. Of those, I was most impressed with the Jayco. What is everyone else's thoughts on the rig? Or another brand to look at? Thanks for the help.
  • Pretty much all towable manufacturers have toyhaulers in their RV offerings, Jayco does have a decent reputation and a 2 year warranty on most of their rigs. Open Range aka Highland Ridge has some well built THs in their line up as well and offer a 2 year warranty that is even transferable. Hope whatever you choose that it delivers all that you expect. Happy Camping!!!
  • My thoughts are that I wouldn't buy one due to seismic using the swin-tec slide on their larger slides. A lot use them on smaller bedroom slide but nearly everyone has gotten away from them on larger slides due to past issues. So in my opinion its a chance that I prefer not to take. Everything else probably not much different between makes and models other than floorplan. Something I look at is, can I access frig without running slides out, if not, is frig located on curb side so slide won't be in the street and can I access front bath and bedroom without running slide out if I stop at truck stop and want to rest for a bit. Those are just a couple things I watch for.
  • We went for the floor-plan and it happened to be a Voltage. You may or may not get a well built trailer regardless of the brand name. I consider my Voltage to be well built but I had to fix a bunch of stuff to get it that way. Your results may vary, lol.

One last thought, Jayco uses the Schwintek slide system and it's a terrible system. Voltage had it but dumped it for the cable system. I would like a trailer that uses hydraulic slides.
  • I was looking at that brand also, I did have a attitude but had issues with and they took it back. After months of looking at jayco, raptor, Fuzion, voltage, cyclone I ended up getting a Fuzion 369. At the end it's what floor plan you like and which one looks more sturdy to you. They have small issues but every once ina while they have bad ones. Good luck
  • We went and looked at the Momentum and Fuzions. Our new two new favorites. I think we are going to settle on the Momentum.

With that being said you might also keep looking some as their are many different makes and models out there, think about what you want and need as far as bells and whistles, layout, can you access areas of hauler with slides in, can you access frig with slides in, if not, can you run frig slide out without it being on traffic side of RV, I prefer curbside frig, are there USB plug ins throughout the hauler for phone charging while on batteries, are kitchen cabinets low and accessible and will they hold a stack of plates...just some things I'm looking at in my next new one. I've been looking for quite some time and with manufacturers changing models all the time its hard to keep up but it is interesting!
