Have a telescoping ladder (not for the slides) - and the "fingers awareness" is worth repeating.

Once you do a couple of 'test runs' collapsing the ladder, you know that "Murphy" is lurking!..:(

I got a telescoping ladder on E-Bay for $67. Had to wait a week for the bidding to close, but that is about 1/3 the retail price. (It was brand new in the box.)

Remember, folding ladders do just that, fold, sometimes at the most undesirable time. We have an 8' aluminum ladder that was purchased from Lowes for under $120. We carry it under the frame with a bracket that I built. If I knew how to post pictures, I would show you. Sorry.

I use either my 17 or 18 year old daughters who way no more than 130 lbs each, to climb up my factory installed ladder rated for 300 lbs. and sweep off what ever was needed , but since the new trailer has slides toppers , there out of a job. And if I go up to do what ever , I do it home with a 12' step ladder.

Telescopic ladders are very compact and lightweight. But you have to have something to lean against, and you have to keep your fingers out of the way when you let them down.

This one is rated to 150kg (330lbs):
