I got two window in the back of the trailer which leak when rain. The water come from the glass not the frame. How can I fix that?
Had the same problem on our 5th wheel when we had it. The water was entering through the gasket around the glass, not the window frame. The window style was the fixed pane "picture" window with a narrow "awning style window that opened under the fixed pane. The water was entering through the gasket on the fixed pane. I ran a bead of clear silicone around the picture window gasket and that solved the problem. Didn't exactly look pretty, and replacement of the gasket probably would have been the best fix, but on an 8 yr. old fifth wheel, what are the odds of finding window parts? - path1ExplorerHere is the youtube video on cleaning weep holes that I found to be the best. And the search word for other window fixes I used is "rv window leak"

I used a cheap $10.00 heat gun to make plastic insert more plyable to work with. - path1ExplorerWent thru problem last year. I could go on about what I did, but doesn't matter.
Do you now where exactly it is leaking from? (Not from the window or around the window I mean exactly where)
Most windows leak from "around" the window frame.
1 Check weep holes first, make sure they are clean so water can drain. There is a youtube on cleaning them out that us good, after cleaning those good to go. And/Or
2.Around the window itself...Which is a sign of old or dried putty tape. Easy to fix, pull window and scrape old tape off and put on new.
3. In my case going thru all the above, with no luck. The third time I pulled the window I put it in a tank of water. Just like when you fixed bicycle intubes as a kid watching for air bubbles, I put window in tank of water and watched where leak came in if any. My window was leaking from underneath what glass people call the "ribbon" which is the small plastic insert that covers some of the window trim. The leak was where the butyl was joined together at the factory seam and finally gave out.
Of course that was after I dug out around the clearance lights (because Class C have a big problem with that, so that had to be the problem; right?). And took window out 3 times. What I'm trying to convey is not all window problems are simple. That is why I have them numbered 1,2,3 in steeps in did them in. I was almost ready to have an expert just swop out window with new, until window guy said $380.00 for window alone. And this is (small) 22 inch by 28 inch non slider, no screens. Just the front window in Class C nothing special.
Know if I can get my awning to work right, my RV is in good shape. - Mountain_MamaExplorerIf the window seal has "weep" holes in it, make sure they are clean so the water can drain out like it is supposed to. We had some on a small window that got clogged up & it was amazing how the water came up over the bottom of the seal in no time.
- MFLNomad III would apply a thin bead of Geocel 2300 sealant between the glass edge and the frame. Use the clear, and put on inside, and outside, if necessary.
Jerry - oldbeekExploreris this a solid sealed window or a window that opens?
- buc1980ExplorerIf I take the seal off the window from outside I am afraid that will broke when I do that.Where can I buy other seal. The leak DON'T COME FROM THE FRAME.
- joelcNomadI do not understand how water comes through the glass unless you are talking about condensation. Remember if you do have a leak water does travel and follows the path of least resistance. Check the sealant around the window. It is possible that if you really have a window leak you should either reseal around the window or you might have to do the major operation of removing the window and reseal the entire area between the window frame and the RV.
