- ventrmanExplorerthe Reason I was asking is we are leaving the 5th Wheel in south Texas. We have purchased another one in Tennessee. We will stay in it for 6 Months during the Summer every Year, then back to Texas every Winter. The RV Park down here will probably require that all Electric be cut off while we are in Tennessee.
- DutchmenSportExplorerMy parents had the old style refer in their 1963 trailer. It used no electronics. Dad ran the refer all summer on one 20 pound propane tank. I kind of wish they still put those in today's campers.

I have not changed my Profile. I have a 2006 Forest River 5th Wheel. - 2oldmanExplorer III was going to see how old your 5er is, but your profile shows a DP.
- n7bsnExplorerFYI
You are all correct about current refers. Older refers didn't need a battery, they ran the flame all the time with no ignitor or 12V needed. - DutchmenSportExplorerProbably about 3 days as your battery will also have other parasitic draw too. Refer needs the battery.
- phillygExplorer III'd trust one 12v battery no more than three days, and maybe five days with two 12v batteries. If you have 6v batteries, you might get a couple more days. Bottom line is you don't want to overestimate and have a smelly mess upon your return.

When leaving my 5th Wheel for an extended Period without Electric hooked up, how long will my Frig work on a full 30 Pound Propane Tank?
Longer than your battery unless you have solar.
Yup, this, you need battery power to run fridge.

The frig runs on propane, but also needs 12Vdc for the control circuitry. - MFLNomad II

Jerry - Sam_SpadeExplorerDepends.....on size of frig, how low it's set and what the outside temp is.
I don't understand why anyone would think that is a good thing to do however.
