colliehauler....correct me if i'm wrong, but was thinking height limit was 13'6" due to under passes.

Thanks for taking time to look up the fed requirement! Maybe it's the RV manufacturers that try to maintain 13' 6" due to bridges.

Earlier this year I had to go under a 12'6" bridge in New York state with a 12'5" trailer. I did it extremely slowly without any issues. The pavement was rutted which gave me additional clearance. Still was very nervous.
