Thank you for all the replies. My concerns were confirmed. I will be a novice at pulling an RV. I have pulled an Escapade cargo trailer behind my Goldwing for tens of thousands of miles but not exactly RVing.

We plan to be staying at full facility campgrounds so I don't think I need to be carrying near 790 lbs of water. The F-150 with 420 lbs of torque is rated to pull 11,300 lbs. I wanted to keep the weight under 8K and be able to control it. This has been the first I heard that manufacturers fudge the weight numbers, very good tip. Thanks for that.

It is 30' and an advertised dry weight of 5,110 if that is to believed.

I am always amazed at some of these published weights. My GMC 1500 truck with the max tow package is rated for 10400 trailer and I would not touch the one above with it. I think you are looking at least a 3/4 ton to be safe and comfortable.

Tony, The advertised weights the manufactures put on the trailers are inaccurate at best, mine was 2,000 lbs over the sticker on the trailer. Most Manf don't include the weight of options, and who knows what else. If weight is a possible problem, you can have the trailer weighed at certified scales before you buy to be certain. Your concerns regarding wheelbase and the added weight of the bike are valid. As a rule, the shorter the wheelbase of the towing vehicle versus the trailer length, the greater the instability. Most of the time this instability will not show its ugly head until you need it the most, like pulling in the wind, winding or rough roads or making an evasive maneuver. The added weight of the motorcycle could cause a problem if it shifts enough weight off of the hitch and that would depend on the hitch weight of the trailer, axel placement etc.... Most of the time this weight can be offset by packing food, clothes and whatever else to achieve the right weight distribution.

145" Wheelbase is short?????? Is it shorter than a F250 with a 142" wheelbase??????? Don't think the Wheelbase is the problem.

I'm thinkin the tongue weight is the real problem.

looked up that trailer and it seams kinda light for that size, but could be the materials they use. and if that is the case how well do they hold up? but only holding 3000 lbs does not give you much leverage. a full tank of water is going to be about 790lbs, now you only have a little over 2k lbs left. not sure what you ride or if you plan on putting toys back there but those can weight a lot too. I tow a 26' TH (total a little over 31') and it is over 1000 lbs heaver dry and has a gross weight of just under 11k. I would not think if towing it with a 1/2 gas truck, but people do it. I bet if you put that trailer on a scale you would get much different numbers. like everyone else said if you want that big of a trailer you need to get a better truck. 1/2 ton v6 is not going to do it.

I would suggest you ask the dealer to put water (full tank), fuel (half tank) and propane in it, then have them weigh it. That's your starting weight, from there you can evaluate if your truck will do it.

My 32' (34 foot including the tongue) which has no slide is 9,800 in that state and closer to 11.5k loaded with my toys and has a sticker max weight of 13k.

Full water because coming with empty black/grey or coming back with full black/grey that weight is still there.

trailer is close to what i pull

water and quad motor bikes or what every you haul will make a difference i how it pules.

that trailer seems way under rated-to light- for the size.

i might move my trailer in a pinch with a 1/2 ton but i would't consider traveling with it at highway speeds.

you might be better looking at the super lights ect. even then 25 ft would be max i' try for that TV
