- willutfidExplorerI've had some good and some bad experiences in contacting Direct TV. What I've found is they don't seem to train their service reps all that well. One rep will give you one answer; another rep, the complete opposite.
In any event, you must not see the frequent polls concerning customer service, where Direct TV (as well as many other satellite and cable TV companies) consistently rank near the bottom. So, guess you get more than your share of "heads". - redcowExplorerI guess what most gets my gall is we've owned a number of RVs and each has had at least a minor issue or two. But - every manufacturer we have dealt with in the past has seemed to go out of its way to resolve issues (some even helping when it was clear the warranty had expired),. Maybe we've just been lucky in that regard. But, after having major problems with two components Lippert built, within a very short time frame, and then having Lippert basically tell us "it ain't our fault, whether it is or isn't" does not give me a warm feeling toward the company. Companies who want to maintain a decent reputation give at least some shrift to customer service - - and from our experience Lippert didn't do that in the least, In fact their attitude was more or less "too bad, so sad for the trouble and expenses our products caused you".
I agree. Two wheel bearings go out on same side of 4 year old trailer and 1 person said they have bearings to replace and 3 people told me I would have to get all new axles? Waited 6 hours on the phone with them and nobody could agree. Did not return calls that I made to them.
I finally gave up on their attitude and no good bearings and are getting Dexter axles. At least I can get parts from them and helpful people. - sidneyExplorer

You mention "over ten years" - perhaps that's the key - their customer service may not be what it once was???. All I can say is I haven't seen worse customer service from a company ever (that includes the likes of Direct TV, and a number of large banks and insurance companies).
Maybe they flip coins - and you got heads, while I got tails.
You must get more than your fair share of tails.
I've had Direct TV for many years and have always experienced excellent customer service. I've had limited contact with Lippert and have no complaints. - willutfidExplorerYou mention "over ten years" - perhaps that's the key - their customer service may not be what it once was???. I admit Lippert must have made progress in resolving much of the problem they were having with their frames. As several have mentioned, I don't see as many complaints as I used to.

My experience with Lippert is the exact opposite. Over 10 years and two different fivers, each had an issue, not a failure, but a potential failure. Both times I contacted the RV manufacturer and they put me in touch with Lippert. With the first issue, Lippert sent a tech from their nearest plant (about 300 miles) to make the repairs in my driveway. The second issue was more complicated with significant communications, my dealer needed to prep the unit and the Lippert tech traveled 200 miles to make repairs. Within a few weeks, the RV manufacturer and Lippert changed the frame design. - willutfidExplorerI admit Lippert must have made progress in resolving much of the problem they were having with their frames. There will always be some because no manufacturer has a perfect product all the time.
Don - LantleyNomadLippert continues to grow and expand. They have ventured beyond frames and supply more and more RV components. They must be doing something right. So far no competitor able to step up and replace them. However they have step up and replaced a few competitors
Check out all the things they are now into
Lippert Components - PhoneDude_8289ExplorerWe hear allot of complaints from those that have had problems no matter if it's Ford, chevy, toyota or whoever made there rv. What we don't hear much about are the many satisfied customers of the products they buy. The RV I now have and the previous one had both had Lippert frames and products and have been trouble free with some maintenance preformed.
- Lippert Frames are built to the OEM engineering specs. NOT LCI specs. LCI just takes the specs from the manufacturer and builds the frame. So, any frame problems (not bad welds but weight or design) fall back on the Manufacturer of the RV, not LCI. Doug
