The very first thing you should do is chock the trailer wheels so it won't roll away. I didn't say they did it intentionally. They forget to put the landing gear down, pull the handle and drive away. The next thing they know the 5er is sitting on the bed rails. It does happen. Yes, you want to raise the trailer until they separate a little.
