looking at trucks

I remember some real good advise I got in my sailing days, "get as big a boat as you can afford now cause' your gonna' want a bigger one sooner than later" and man wuz he right! If your certain this is as big as your going to want then a SRW 2500 shorty will do the job,,,marginally, however if your planning on doing any "real" travelling the better handling, stopping, carrying capacity and just plain confidence a 3500 dually would give you would be well worth the extra investment. We have a 07' Dodge Ram 6.7L dually with the exhaust brake and an 8' bed and i'll grant you it's a P.I.T.A. to park sometimes but we now just park in the back forty and do a bit more walking,, big deal but when we're rolling down the highway without getting pushed around by the transport trucks or stopping with out-right certainty because of the combination of the exhaust brake and the bigger brakes our 3500 has or just the extra storage room the 8' box gives us just shows how the bigger truck makes more sense.
