If all you go to is RV parks sky is the limit. A lot of state and national parks are older and have smaller sites. I would look at how you plan to use it. I like to boondock and 24 to 26 feet is as large as I want to go.

2 weeks per year? I suggest renting.

I +2 the Arctic Fox, or the Evergreen is a great brand too. Was just in one at an RV show and it didn't have that "gassy" smell.

Take a look at Arctic Fox. In your price range, you can buy new and they have several models around the 30' length.

Open Range has high end (imho) 5th wheels in the 30sh length. The TTs aren't so hot from what I understand but the 5ers seem to be danged good. We bought a Used (for only 2 weeks) 2010 5er and have been MORE than pleased with it. And btw, we pull it with a short bed 3500 diesel. Ours is 34 feet long. You might seriously want to consider a sliding hitch....just to be on the safe side.

Excel has a 31 footer. It is rather heavy but a srw one ton will work. They are designed for full time use with house built fully boxed frames. They will also do some customization.

All 5er's will outgas when new. A used 5er will not have that issue or not as bad.

One of my favorite used if you can find one is a 30" Excel. I would suggest New Horizon as well but finding a 30' would be difficult and the weight would be to heavy. A new Artic fox would be in your price range. Short length and within weight as well. You would still have outgassing being new.

It's difficult to find a used "high quality" 30'ish 5th wheel. They can be found, but we recently finished about a 2 year search for that same 5th wheel you're looking for. To be honest, we were quite picky about what we wanted or would accept so that certainly extended our search.

We had a 2001 Cardinal 25 footer (overall length 28') with double body slides since purchasing it used 12 years ago. Dry weight was about 8700+ lbs. We pulled it with our current '02 Chevy 2500 Duramax diesel. It was a great little camper in which we used often during our work years and after retirement traveled to the Rockies, Canada, NY, Maine, and to Florida for snowbirding, this being the 3rd season.

About 2 weeks ago while in Florida (continuing our search here because there are a lot more used 5th wheels here) we found a nice 2012 Cedar Creek Silverback 29RL at Lazy Days RV near Tampa. We were going to trade our Cardinal. Unfortunately upon prepping it for us they discovered severe water damage. To make a long story shorter, we purchased a new 2015 Cedar Creek Silverback 29RE. It actually measures just over 33' and just over 10,500 lbs. empty.

We searched far and wide and on line for a shorter used quality 5th wheel. They are difficult to find, although not impossible. My preference for 5th wheels are those better quality units made by Forest River (Cardinal & Cedar Creek). Heartland makes some nice shorter models. Just go to their websites and get familiar with the various models (brand names) the different top RV makers have. Getting one in that 30' range can be very frustrating though.
