Looking for "Lite" Toy Hauler for Small sports car

I have recently decided to rekindle a love affair from my youth. That was with my first new car...a 1967 Triumph Spitfire MK3 sports car. The last production version, 1975 - 1980, is the Spitfire 1500 (MK5) which has many improvements compared to my MK3 so the search for a low mileage rust free example is on together with a Lite weight toy hauler that will suit it..

We presently have a 25 ft Ever-Lite for our annual north-south-north migrations as well as occasional touring whenever the travel bug bites, and would like to have a "lite" toy hauler that is half ton towable, has a 14 ft "garage" and can carry the Spitfire which is 5 ft x 12.5 ft and weighs about 1800 lbs, and still have a reasonable cargo capacity when the Spitfire is loaded.

Any and all recommendations will be appreciated.

Might want to look at bumper pull toyhaulers

That is what I have in mind. Difficult to tow a 5W with a bed cap and bedslide (see signature)!!

BTW the term "bumper pull" is probably a holdover from early travel trailers, c.1950s, that had hitches mounted on the bumper? Seems that now, with frame mounted receivers, perhaps it would be better described as "ball hitch" or "ball coupler" or "receiver hitch"??

    OK......
Look for a 'travel trailer toyhauler'

Do a Google search the term bumper pull is widely still used & still correct....

    Definition from internet......

"A "bumper pull" hitch may actually be in or on the bumper, or may be placed in a hitch receiver under the bumper. It can be a ball type or a pintle type, but pintle hitches aren't used with RVs, so are of little interest here (farm, industrial and military vehicles often use pintle hitches)."

  • Not too many toyhaulers are designed for hauling cars. You might check out "Work & Plays" they might have a type that would work.
  • Seems that truck has a 10,400# MAX Trailer tow rating.

Might want to look at bumper pull toyhaulers
  • Something tells me those recommendations will be few and far between. :)

Toyhaulers that are half-ton towable are not really plentiful, and one with a 14' garage would be a real challenge to find.

I have to admit that I was thinking 5th wheel toyhaulers, but I still think finding a bumperpull toyhauler with a 14' garage could be a challenge.
