13,600 on a 2500 is probably right at the upper limits of payload and rear axle.
That was why we traded up to a 3500 SRW diesel after the first couple of trips with the Titanium (13,800 GVWR) on a 2500 Ram diesel. Just not enough truck to feel comfortable and the scales were telling a sad story on the weights.
By the way, trading to a long bed crew cab, even though it takes a football field to U-turn, made a big difference in long day's comfort on the road.
