I would look at a used higher end model instead of a new budget model if you are concerned about getting a better built 5er. RVs depreciate rapidly and with your bufget you could afford to get a really nice used unit. Take your time and research floor plans to find exactly what you are looking for and then look at lots of models that have that floor plan.
One other thing I would recommend is to avoid any 5er that has switched away from using hydraulics to move slide and is using cables. Cables are a cheaper method of moving slides and also a more problematic approach. The hydraulic method is used on the best units.
