Louvered Tailgates

we have a v tailgate and the only milege difference is if im driving or dw is driveing

Agree with the fuel mileage not increasing... all hype IMO.

A few weeks ago in a Georgia state park I saw a tv with a louvered V tailgate that resembled an out of shape pretzel... looked like he unhooked and the pin somehow caught the gate a yanked it way out of shape... maybe turning too sharp while pulling out from under the 5ver ???

The guy in the "LIVE THE DREAM" photo that appears at the end of each page, always reminds me of Adam.

I love these miracle mileage mods. Turn that stupid HUD to something useful like tire pressure...your fuel mileage $uck$, get over it, or buy a Prius and a tent.

I pulled for several months with my stock tailgate on, then we had a "V" rear mounted tool box that we ran with for about a year. During this last year the tool box was taken out and we have had a light weight fifth wheel tailgate.

I constantly monitor my fuel mileage and I can tell you that in my truck non of those configurations have made any difference. The only difference I have noticed was keeping my new bed cover closed, and that difference is extremely slight.

I bought a V gate for ease of hooking up the 5er I can see the hitch in the mirror and the wife runs the trailer legs and helps with the hook up as well as unhook when the time comes new Dodge is so high makes it hard to see with stock gate but not now ....Bushman
