LP quick connect on Fuzion

Hooked up my bbq through the quick connect and the flow is pathetic. With the burners on high the flames were barely going. Has anyone else used their LP quick connect and have or have not had an issue, on a Fuzion.

There is not a second regulator on my line from the quick connect to the bbq. Everything works great when it's hooked straight to a tank (this way requires a regulator on the line)

I just went through the same thing on a new trailer tonight. I removed the regulator from my BBQ which is a Weber Q1000. Added a 1/4" FIP x 1/8" FIP brass coupler and added a female quick disconnect fitting. Tested it and everything works great. This BBQ is dedicated for my trailer and will no longer work with the small green propane tanks.

That's the issue, been there done that. I just use a dedicated 5 gallon propane tank now, it also acts as emergency backup for the trailer should I forget to fill my tanks (don't ask why that is a consideration LOL).
  • Thanks for the info Dezman. On my days off I'm going to check for blockages. It's just not getting enough pressure.

  • The propane tank has ~100-120 psi of fuel, the disconnect 0.5 psi. If the bbq is not designed for that pressure (check the regulator you use when using a tank, see if it lists its output pressure) it will barely light. Some use a high pressure external regulator, and have a second regulator built into the flame control - so they are not compatible with the low pressure off the rv.
  • The brand of your grill or a photo of it would help considerably with folks here being able to help.
Given what you've described, you are clearly getting limited flow. If you are not double regulating, then perhaps there's a problem with your ball valve opening all the way?
How long is your hose from the quick connect to the grill?
  • The supply to the grill can not be double regulated.

Don't remember the brand of the grill, but it works great without the quick connect set up. And as stated above there is no second regulator when I use the quick connect.
  • What kind of grill? Does it have a regulator on it? I would guess if it works off the tank it has its own regulator, so basically your running it thru 2 regulators when hooked up to your quick connect, I don't think that will work
