Look at the emissions on our vehicles. All originated from CA.
I fully understand OP's comments and concerns. Why is it ok to be able to do one thing in another state (in this case towing "X" length or "X" combo) but not in CA?
NYers are not to have any aftermarket tint on their vehicles windows. But if you are visiting NY from another state that allows tinted windows and have it, don't think they can ticket you cuz you don't reside or vehicle isn't registered in NY.
Likewise, just on outskirts of Syracuse, a road is off limits to all commercial vehicles due to a low bridge. Pickups can be reg as commercial thus they are banned from this road. HOWEVER, any gov't pickup CAN go on same road that the same exact truck reg as comm cannot.
