I have towed several times in CA since I bought a MC and tow it behind my 5er. I recently in broad daylight double towed from Palm Springs, CA to NW WA along I-5. Passed several LEO's and some passed me. No Issues along the way. I stayed right and followed the speedy limit. I am licensed SD that does allow double/tripple tow.
To the person saying one should not double tow I say have you done so? It is no divergent than just towing your 5er. Exceptions are allowing for more length and when making a U turn for example the second trailer swings out past the path of the RV.
