ST tires are for trailers only. LT tires can be for trucks and/or trailers.

On edit: That is how the GY G614 RST was first marketed. That statement is no longer on new production tires. I don't know why. Could have been a conflict with the DOT about the LT designation. Could have been the casing does not qualify it for the ST designation. Over the past couple of years I've researched that tire for the reason(s)causing the removal of the trailer service only rating. If someone knows I'd sure like to see the reference.
Maybe the T&RA got involved, I just don't know. In any event, it is/was surely detrimental to safety to have a single LT tire designated by it's manufacturer for trailer service only.
