- Me_AgainExplorer IIII blame that mostly on the truck dealers. Go to most Arizona RV resorts and you will see 250's and 2500's towing really large and heavy 5th wheels.
I think it is a truck dealer issue. Go to a dealers lot and look at all the 250's and 2500's, and maybe one of two 350 and 3500 SRW or duallies!!!
To get a proper TV one has to order it most of the time.

There is a guy in the park I am in that has a 36 MS and is towing it with a 2500 GM short bed.
Amazing!
Just make sure your departure times are on different days :W
Years ago I parked next to a Grand Teton at the storage yard. Finally after a year or so I got to meet the guy who owned it. Yep driving a 2500 :E
It really is scarry what people do and think is okay. I stay real clear from rigs like that. - 45RicochetExplorer

Gemstone - kennethwoosterExplorerI have a very good friend that bought a F250 and a 36ft. Mobile Suites. He soon realized that would not work. Hes a big farmer so kept the F250 and bought a 3500 Dodge DRW. I still think he is very overweight, but he says this rig handles it fine.

Amazing! - cimacExplorerMy 2011 MS 36rssb3 weighed 15280 lbs. empty. When loaded that would be a lot for a SRW. Think you would at least a 1T DRW.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Food for thought. I weighed the Alpenlite that burned a little over a year ago on a CAT scale, total weight 15,740, pin 3,420 with all tanks empty. We have been fulltimers for eight years with this same setup.
The only problem has been the G rated tires on the trailer. I went to H rated tires and have had no problems since. I couldn't have asked for a better handling lash up, down the road, in strong cross winds south of Indio, panic stops to miss deer. Bought truck and trailer new in CA and have 237,000 on the truck. A lot of that with the trailer since daughters and granddaughters live in the northeast.
I had weights for MS but can't find them. I try to decypher Motorcycle Jacks URL suggestion.
Thanks again I'll take all the advise I can get. jr
18K and 4,500# pin weight is a lot more than your Alpenlite. - Me_AgainExplorer IIIRear axle weight is the issue. The axle is fine, however the tires limit it to around 6K. So you only have 3K or less left for pin weight. You need Rickson Wheels http://www.ricksontruckwheels.com/wheels-dodge-srw.php and air bags. With that much weight, the 3.73 might be a problem. How much power are you making??? Us Dodge Boys like to bomb the Cummins!!!
