Modification to landing legs to raise them without bending

What I am looking to do is put some chain or wire on my front landing legs that would allow me to hook the chain / wire with a hook and raise the leg without me having to bend or get down on my knee t...

Get an eye bolt from the hardware store with a 1/4" shank long enough to reach through the lower landing leg. Washers and "self-locking (or aircraft)" nuts.

Replace the pin that holds the foot onto the lower leg with the eye facing out.

Hook with an awning hook.
