I am anxiously awaiting my new fiver, GD Reflection 337. I would like to upgrade the pin box right away. I have heard many good things about the Morryde Rubber Pin Box. I am interested to hear more testimonials. My trailers expected GVWR is 13995. Morryde has two sizes of the pin box, one is for up to 14000 and one that is rated for 14001 to 18000. Which one do I choose? I also heard there is a possibility of voiding the frame warranty by installing certain pin boxes. All replies are most appreciated.

Get the heavier pin box for future, heavier trailers.

The MORryde is an excellent pin box - that's what's coming on the new Solitudes and Momentums. The pin box will not affect your frame warranty since that is the pin box Grand Design is installing on their units, anyway. As you stated, the GVWR of the Reflection 337 is 13,995 lbs. I'd call MORryde and have a conversation with them about which model since your RV is right on the borderline. MORryde is most helpful. I think the model up to 14K will do fine and will likely give you a better ride. The higher rated one might be too stiff. I love our MORryde pin box (and loved our Reflection 337 which we were full time in for 4-1/2 years).Rob

I called Morryde about this very thing on our 14000 GVWR 5er. She said the 11.5K-14K is the correct one to use. In our case it was a 1621HD-4.

Spend the extra money and get you an air ride pin box. We have a Reese 5th Airborne.

Every truck-trailer combination is different. I put the Morryde on mine and it works great most of the time. There is a section or I-69 near Lansing that makes my truck and trailer buck like crazy. In that location an air ride pinbox would be better. The Morryde is great at removing lateral forces. It doesn't do anything for vertical forces. I would not get in a hurry to replace your pinbox until you get some miles under your belt. Then you will know what you need.

The Mor-Ryde pin box will not fix chucking, it just masks it! Consider fixing the root problem, before installing the cushioned pin box. We had a chucking issue with our 2005 Copper Canyon, leveled the trailer when towing, installed shocks on the 5er, and got the pin weight up to 22%, chucking issues gone, no need for the cushioned pin box. If I were to install a cushioned pin box it would be a Mor-Ryde.

If you are getting a new truck and it has the factory puck including a gooseneck ball why not just get a Goose Box. No more cumbersome hitch to remove to use the bed. All the equipment stays with the trailer. The Goose Box is shock dampened and air ride adjustable. Lippert frame warranty approved.

And if you still have chunking after trying the MorRyde pin box and equalizer, you can always add some kind of damping of suspension using a shock kit or a sumo spring. Lots of options out there.

The 1621 designation is the pin box bolt pattern. The box comes in long or short and the two weight classes. I changed from the SRE3000 to the SRE4000 and saw no differance in height.

You have to purchase the MORRyde pin box compatable with the OEM PIN box so all the bolt sizes match and the holes line up. MORRyde lists comparable OEM pin boxes on line. The MORRyde SRE4000 rubberized equalizer does raise the trailer 1.25" but most of us can use the help back there to level the trailer.

I have a stock pin box and Pullrite Autoslide 2600. (FR Heritage Glen 326). While I haven't driven to far yet I haven't noticed much of an issue with chucking. I am wondering having seen air ride and more ride boxes at cg's of they raise the height of the fw? Im 13'2" now and not looking to get much taller. Any thoughts on that?

There is actually a third option. A 11.5K or less. I bought the 11.5 to 14K one and it moved very little on my 303.You can see where the pucks are sliding and I had about 1/2" of movement of less. So I had to anti up for a lighter spring which works great. With a GVWR of 12K I thought I got the right one at first. But I am never fully loaded and am closer to 11K so the lighter spring (rubber) works for me.
