Mounting Snaps

I'm putting a vinyl skirt around the front of my fifth wheel and it attaches with snaps. Where two of the male part of the snaps need to screw in, there is only thin aluminum siding and there is no way to get behind it. Does anyone have any mounting suggestions as I think it would be only a matter of time before they would pull loose? Thank you.

  • Use the tri-wing pop-rivets (I always use them to mount anything to very thin material such as the thin aluminum siding)...available from MSCdirect.com...they won't pull out of thinner material like regular pop rivets...or use regular pop-rivets, but you'll need to get to the back side to put on a backer washer to support the thinner material.
  • Could you use adhesive backed Velcro in those two spots? Since the snaps would still be on the skirt it would appear to still be snaps.
