There are a lot of toy haulers with separate garages to choose from. In addition to floor plans, price, and finding quality manufacturers, you may also need to watch your weights.
Bumper-pull toy haulers with garages will typically have a tongue weight in the 1,200 to 1,800 lb. range. Shouldn't be a problem with your 1-ton SRW.
5th wheels are another story. If you're one that watches your payload/RAWR, the pin weight on some 5th wheel toy haulers are notorious for being on the high-side---especially some garage units. You'll typically have to add 500-1,000 lbs. to the empty pin weight to arrive at your realworld, loaded pin weight.
Our SRW has almost 4,000 lbs. of payload. We ended up purchasing the smallest Voltage 5th wheel toy hauler (open garage) in order to keep our realworld pin weight below 3,000 lbs. (empty pin weight rating for our 5r was 2,300 lbs.---realworld, 2,800 lbs.). We wanted a garage unit; unfortunately, the empty pin weight on the units we liked were almost 3,000 lbs. plus. Still had to add the typical 500-1,000 lb. increase in pin weight once the unit was loaded for the road. Along with this realworld pin weight increase, still gotta add in the weight of passengers, gear, and ~200 lbs. of hitch---it adds up very quick.
Yes, your pin weight may decrease with toys in the garage. However, depending on the weight of the toy(s) and how it's loaded in the toy hauler the decrease could be a few hundred pounds, minimal, or non-existent.
Good luck with whatever you choose!
