I sure sympathize. We just upgraded to a fifth wheel few weeks ago and it was the easy part. finding the truck was the hard part. I was looking for a one ton dually with a gas motor because I had a smaller budget. it was hard. 3/4 tons were much more plentiful. Id stay away from 5.4 with fords. I got the v10 in 2008 and I'm happy. my trailer is 9000 dry. gm 6.0 would be great. I was told the 5 speed is way to go. ive heard great things about a ram with a hemi. really with your budget you could get into a diesel just stay clear of ford 6.0 or 6.4. I saw some good gm with duramax in that range.
