Nothing quite about a '02 Dodge/Cummins 5.9 24 valve. The '02 and older Cummins was loud enough to kill brain cells. Yeah I had a '01 2nd gen.
The 3rd gen HPCR quiet 5.9 Cummins came out in '03 in a different new upgraded from the ground up truck. Much quieter.
As others say the 2500 GM with the 6.0 gazzer 3.73 gears will be plenty of truck for that size and larger trailer. Or 4.10 if the trailer is heavier.
