That would be extreme over kill. Usually, the GVWR is 3K-4K over the GAWR. Finding tires to meet that would be pretty pricey. The reality of ST tires is that for them to have a chance of surviving they need to have a 15% reserve capacity. That would make their effective load capacity less than the equivalent LT tire which does not require the reserve. So, add 15% to the GVWR and see where you land for capacity.

If you REALLY want the best, look at the Michelin XPS Rib tires.
They are all-steel cord tires, and have a reputation no one else
can touch, IMHO
They aren't cheap, but what is peace of mind worth?

Did anybody put 235/85/16 Firstones on it looks like I whould have about 1 1/2 in between the tires.

My Numbers are pretty much the same as yours and I installed BF Goodrich Commercial TA's on my fifth when new and am very happy with my decision.

Personally I think the weight of today's trailers are exceeding the ability of any tire to safely transport them. I think they need to have an extra set of wheels like the toy haulers. Too many blow outs, I really think it's not always the tire's fault, it is the design of the trailer.

I thuoght about Firestone how long have you had them on and how much does your 5th wheel wheigh.
