- jimmyfredExplorer..........I agree , those are substantial looking tires ! (5) questions , (1)cost of a single tire, not mounted ? , (2)what ply are they and DO they have steel matrix in the sidewall ? , (3)what does a tire weigh unmounted ? , (4)what is the load rating imprinted on the side of the tire ? , (5)what pressure do they require ?
..........Both the Sailuns s637 , and the Michelins weigh ~61 to 62 lbs and have a steel matrix in the sidewall ! A steel reinforced sidewall is what prevents the tire from wallowing side to side when heavily loaded and eventually shedding it's tread and\or a blowout !, thanks , jf - Me_AgainExplorer IIIWestlake does now have a LRG all steel ply tire. They are OEM on Cedar Creeks that I looked at, however with no track record, why not Sailuns. The way it works is Tredit and Tireco sell to manufacturers based on what they can get out of china cheap unless the manufacturer request a particular tire. Heartland is putting Sailun S367 on most of their larger units, with an option for GY 614's and 114's is 17.5" rims are used.
Chris - At any rate the tires he posted look pretty heavy duty to me.
- RustyJCExplorerBottom dollar "never heard of 'em" brand Chinese ST tires used as OEM equipment by too many RV manufacturers have earned their sorry "China bomb" reputations. Even Goodyear has fallen prey to competing for this market with their Chinese-made Marathons. The China tire apologists can protest until the cows come home, but the fact remains that replacing these rim protectors that come on many RVs with quality tires (regardless of country of origin) stops the failures.

The issue with Chinese manufacturing is mostly one of supervision by the company employing the Chinese facility. Some companies just toss over specs and think that they will be adhered to. However then you find out that they will substitute rubber o-rings when you specified neoprene (for example).. same thing right? Of course not, however in my experience that's how they operate IF you don't make sure they understand what you require.
Years back Fram farmed out motorcycle oil filter to a factory in Mexico and they switched o-ring materials.. Fram spin-on filters were banned from motorcycle racing for years due to that.... and Fram never recalled them at all (I had one dump oil on my rear wheel..)
I hold the brand responsible, not where it's made.. I think that blaming China is encouraged, deflect blame from where it should really be directed. - JIMNLINExplorer IIISome don't get it. Or just being pig headed. Some are hypocrites as they bash others using a foreign made brand ......but use foreign made products themselves.
Some lump all made in china tires into the same krap piles as most ST C/D/E trailer tires we read about on every trailer forum (rv and non rv) coast to coast.
We have several made in china P and LT tires that give just as good of quality and service and mileage as tires made in the USA/CA/Euro tires.
Now we have some very good LT and ST load G commercial grade all steel carcass tires which were aimed mainly at regional service trailers (commercial folks). Running 60k-100k miles a year these folks may wear out two sets in that time. They work fine on rv trailers also.
The OP's brand isn't a good long term/high mileage tire as some need (5-8 years and 40k-60k miles) but as many RV trailers don't run but 7k-10 in 3-5 years and sit most of the time...... they should work fine.

Any tire made in China is a "China bomb" and I'll avoid them at all expense. Sailun was on the short list but after I found out they're made in China they are no longer an option.
HMMMM, what about your foreign owned Michelin's?
Sorry had to say that!
Non of my current vehicles have Michelins
