x2. The RV world has no set MSRP for like cars. I've seen the exact same FW, down to the same interior color, 10-15% difference on the quoted "MSRP". Everything I've read, here and elsewhere, says that the manufacturers basically let the dealers set their own "MSRP". They then b*tch about us going out of state to buy. Any wonder why?

Another thing to keep in mind when dealing for a new trailer,or car/TV,
When you make what you feel is the best deal,don't let the finance guy in the back office turn it all around.A point or two on the finance rate,in their favor
and the deal is different than the way it started out.How much are you actually going to end up paying? It could be a lot more than you thought.
I drove a pretty hard bargain on my TV,I'm sure they felt that they could make up the difference on the finance charges.I thought that the finance guy was going to cry after he kept bringing the finance percentage down and I finally said that I will be paying cash.
Remember,the dealer is not just selling an RV,he is also selling/renting you a rather large amount of money.I am guessing that the largest share of their profit actually comes from the financing.

I wrote "of" MSRP, not "off" MSRP.

Another way to look at it, 35% off MSRP, or in our case 42% off MSRP.

No worries.

If they sell for wholesale they will only offer wholesale for your trade. If they work off MSRP, they will offer a higher trade price. Either way, they need to make a certain amount of cash, on any deal. Some dealers may take a slight bit less than some others. But best way to find the best deal is to shop several dealers for the model that meets your needs. When you are ready to deal, you'll know which is your best price point.

Best to not trade. But that is most convenient. You pay for that convenience. Selling yourself is not all that easy. But that is the most benefit financially.

When we shopped a couple years ago, across the board (Heartland, Keystone, Forest River, Jayco, Dutchmen (may be some over lap there) from at least half a dozen dealers all had the same 65% of MSRP as the price they would quote us for new units.

Left over units were at 60% or less. We got our leftover for 58% of MSRP.

It was very consistent.

No doubt Holman is about as good as it gets on the East Coast. RV Outlet USA in Ringold, VA can get down and dirty also. I've only heard good things about both of them. I traveled over 500 miles one way with my trade to purchase from Holman. I tried to sell my old 5er during the 9 weeks it took to get the new unit ordered and delivered to the dealer and couldn't seem to sell it locally. The deal was made on the new trailer prior to figuring a trade and did not change when a trade was added to the deal. After the cost of travel including fuel, meals and shopping while on the road, I still saved more than $4,000 over any deal I could find locally. My experience is that Holman's quote will be a few thousand lower than their advertised "sale" price and it is virtually impossible to beat!

Like some have stated, if you have a trade, that clouds everything. Just like buying a new car/truck.

Suggest that you go to 'seedealercost.com' (free) and look up the rig you're thinking about. I just looked and it has data for the 2013s but not the 2014s. Has invoice as well as MSRP info and you can add and delete options to adjust the price. One thing - I don't know where they get their info.

I drove from Florida to Cincinnati a few months ago to get my new rig because I could save so much (no trade). The dealer is Holman motors (actually in Batavia). According to Google Maps, you're just a hop, skip, and a jump from there compared to me. You might want to call them. Let me know if you want my salesman's contact info. I am very happy with them.
