I am trying to sell my Class A, then I will buy where ever I can get a good deal because I don't mind traveling to get it. I am doing my homework now I am leaning towards the Crusader 315RST.

Like buying a car. You can order a trailer exactly the way you want it but you will generally pay a higher price than choosing one off the lot. If the manufacture isn't the one putting those G rated Goodyears on then the dealer is and charging you for them. I ordered the 3611rl tonight at the RV Show. Ordered the G Rated Goodyears from the factory. By ordering front he factory the wheels will be for 110 psi as well. Cost was about $1,235 for 5 of them I can not buy them that cheap locally.

We ordered ours from the factory and ended up paying a lot less than we had anticipated. The manager at Worldwide RV said they usually make a lot less on factory orders because the only money that is ever used for them is the customers. They use none of their own resources.

Maybe it's not true, but like I said after all of our research we had a price in mind we would not go over and the price we paid was way less than that.

Biggest discounts seem to always be when a dealer has old stock still sitting on his lot and wants to move it. If you can find one that's close to what you like, and you can live with paying 10-20% =less= for it, that may be the way to go. :-)

Let me start by saying the RV (and marine) business is not the car business. RV's are a 6 month selling season, while cars are sold 12 months out of the year. RV dealers have 12 month expenses, however. A successful RV dealer must get a "fair" profit in order to stay in business, as they don't have manufacturers' holdbacks and regional advertising pools car dealers have.

You'll usually do better buying a unit in stock. Dealers are often offered incentives to order RV's at Fall order writing, as the RV maker wants to keep his factory running consistently 12 months of the year. Throughout the year, price increases can make the stock unit cheaper to buy (than a new one.)

I started looking around at dealers within a 200 mile radius of my house, and got prices quoted online. It was easy to see who the "leader of the pack was" in the selling department.

I happened to be going through another city 275 miles away, and stopped at a RV dealer. I furnished the prices previously quoted, and they beat the best deal by $900. And the salesman changed one of their pending orders to my specs., and I had my fifth wheel within 3 weeks. I shot them straight, and they shot me straight--no haggling from either side. That's a fair deal.

2 years ago we was searching for a new unit and the exact one we wanted came up and we got 40% off list. Haven't seen a deal like this since.

My experience also.

I also learned purchasing my fiver that the dealer in Tucson had a MSRP $2500 more than the dealer in Phoenix for the EXACT same trailer.

We got 28% off the MSRP when ordering our Landmark and got exactly what we wanted. Plus, it was true MSRP as Heartland posts the sheets on their owner's forum...so it wasn't made up by the dealer.

Thats great if you were able to order what you wanted at 25-35% off MSRP! Every time I've tried to do that best I've talked them down is around 20% off at most. Locally I could not find what I wanted so drove out of state, got exactly what I was looking for at a far lower price. Deals vary widely from one area or between different dealers.
