New Truck

I have a 350 diesel, only problem I have had is that it stopped in the middle of the freeway pulling the Rv. It was the heat sensors and I was towed off the freeway by a guy and after a while, I started the truck but it said Don't drive. Later on while waiting for a tow truck it started but I let them take it to a ford dealer and it was fixed the next day. Have had 1 recall on it and it took 15 mins. It's a great truck! Enjoy!

One thing I had forgotten to mention also.

You may get a message on the display saying check coolant additive.

Now one can do these tests yourself, but involves buying a quantity of test strips you really don't need.

I guess all these new diesels running the OAT style coolant are real particular to the PH balance of the coolant, and that message just means have Ford dealer check the coolant with their test strips.

So for sure be aware of this when it does come on, and it will. Nothing major, and any dealer can do the test. It actually can be done in a few minutes, but they gotta let the system cool down enough so they can open coolants caps safely.

Adding a fuel conditioner will help a lot with injector lubrication and keeping the injectors clean. I use Opti-lube. Also keeping tabs on the engine and trans operating parameters while towing can prevent problems.

no comparison between the two. The 6.7 is probably their best effort yet because it is NOT a Navistar engine. The 7.3 was the only reliable engine Navistar made. I have a few friends with 6.7's no issues yet & they love them.

Went from a 2005 6.0 to a 2014 6.7 F350 SRW have 27,000 miles in 1 year pulling TT and 5er. 6.0 cost me after the head bolts stretched. No problem with the 6.7.

Other than the aforementioned things like clean fuel, the only thing to cause problems with these engines is extended idling and short trips. As someone else said, they love to work.

Congrats on that new pony! I came from a 2006 6.0 to a 2008 6.4 for a very short time to this 2014 6.7. I just turned 5K miles so early for me to tell, but it is sure a pleasure to drive.

On our trip to Alaska last summer I had to buy some blue def and the clerk told me to be careful and not pour it into the gas tank. My gmc has the fill neck under the hood, so I asked her why she would tell me that and she told me a guy with a Ford just last week poured it into the fuel tank instead of taking the cap off the fill neck in the fuel compartment. She said he only made it about a block.......
