OP - I was in your situation a year ago and almost bought a bunkhouse travel trailer, even though we already have quads...didnt do it and I just took delivery of a Fuzion 345 Chrome...love it so far...use the garage for kids room as well as to haul quads and here soon, a RZR
However, you can quickly go over your payload capacity in a 3/4 truck with the pin weights of the bigger toy haulers (mine is 38'11" which isnt even big compared to many others). I will be right at my SRW 3500's max payload...You need to determine if you get toys, what are you going to get? ie will you need a 10, 11, or 12 ft garage? A 12ft garage will be a heavier toy hauler (usually anyways). There are some 10 ft models with GVWR of 14500-15500 that might work. Torque's are nice and might fit the bill. Jayco Seismic Wave has a 310 and a 320 model that are fairly light and might work. The Keystone models (Impact, Fuzion, Raptor) are all a good bit heavier.
This is my first Fifth, but so far, I much prefer the stability, roominess, and general feel of the fifth wheel over a travel trailer..which as noted earlier, you could also go with and be well under your payload
